Registration is pre-registration only on www.sportsbaseonline.com. If you haven't made an account with them, you'll need to create one before you register, and you must register by Friday at 6PM.
Please feel free to join us at the downtown Lazlo’s (8th and P) at 7:00PM for an ‘End of the Season’ team dinner. For those who haven’t been there, it’s a casual restaurant with dinner prices generally between $10-15 for meal and drink. They have great burgers, great prices, and a great atmosphere. If you don’t want to spend money, either split a dinner, just get an appetizer, just get a drink, or just come by to enjoy the company of our well accomplished 2008-2009 club!
We won’t really be going over any boring team formalities, although feel free to bring pictures to pass around from our season this year!
Please RSVP to myself before 10:00AM Friday morning if you intend on going!
So...I'd like to address the weather concerns people have brought up. Our forecast is looking rainy for Saturday...just rainy. They're not forecasting thunder and lightening, they're not forecasting hail, and they're not forecasting snow. The temperature will be 55-60 degrees when we start racing, and rain and 55 degrees is not bad weather at all. The only thing that will cancel our race is snow/ice, or consistent lightening that would delay our race past sunset.
Bottom line...don't be a whimp, throw on your vest/jacket, and COME RACE LE TOUR DE HUSKER!!! :-)

We had an awesome turnout for our first 53X11 Trail CleanUp last Saturday! After chowing down on some bagels and sipping/chugging some 53X11 Coffee, we headed out to clean up the Rock Island Trail between the Lincoln Zoo and Joyride Bicycles (3.75 miles). Before we began, we were a little concerned with not finding enough trash, as a few people rode the trail the day before and didn't detect a particularly high amount of rubbish along the trail. Soon after beginning however, we were proved very wrong. The trail was littered with cigarette butts, food/drink containers, and a strangely high number of alcohol containers! Sure makes me wonder if it's even safe to be on that trail...
Anyways, after 2 hours, 4 photo breaks, and dozens of random 'thanks!' from fellow trail-users, we arrived at Joyride Bicycles with 8/10 of our kitchen sized trash bags full of trash! Not a bad way to give back to the community in our book.
